FAQ’s

Do you offer treatments to Men?

Due to the nature of home visits, male clients require a referral from an existing client before treatment will be considered.

Where are you located?

Beauty on the Move is unique in that I’m a mobile beauty therapy business, so I come to you! While i’m based in Ruakaka, I also cater to Whangarei, Marsden Point and Waipu.
At this stage I don’t have a physical location to work from, but you never know what the future may bring!

Is there a travel fee?

Yes, there is a travel fee for areas outside of the radius of Kauri, Maunu, Waipu and Onerahi. These bookings must meet the minimum cost of $100 and they will incur a travel fee of $1.50 per km including return from the one of nearest suburbs mentioned above.

Do you offer [treatment]?

If it’s not on the website, I unfortunately don’t offer it at this time.
If there’s a specific treatment you’re interested in, please don’t hesitate to let me know! I’m always looking to expand my services to provide a luxurious experience at home.

What is your pricing?

For a list of treatment pricing, please visit the treatment pages or click Book Now.
Beauty on the Move’s pricing factors in the cost of materials, time, and transportation costs of providing a mobile beauty therapy experience.

Why do I have to complete a consult form? Will my appointment go ahead if I don’t?

Consult forms are only required for the first booking for each new client. This ensures a safe approach to your treatments based on any contraindications or medical issues. All information is kept confidential.

If you do not fill out your consult form within 24 hours of your appointment, your appointment will be postponed.

What is the cancelation fee for Bridal Makeup bookings?

If Bridal Makeup bookings are cancelled within 4 weeks of the wedding day, the cancelation fee of 50% of the total booking will occur.

How do I book?

Please feel free to browse the treatment pages on the website. Once you have an idea of what beauty treatments you’d like, the ‘Book Now’ button will take you through to my booking software where you can select a date/time and enter your contact details.

What are my payment options?

At this stage, Beauty on the Move has three payment options.
One option is internet banking, wherein you’ll receive a text notification following the appointment with account details. The second option is mobile Eftpos and the third is via cash at the end of the treatment.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations are required 24 hours ahead of the treatment time. This ensures other clients have a chance to fill that appointment. Failing to give proper notice will result in a fee of 50% of the total appointment cost.
During Christmas I do ask clients to be considerate with their bookings as they are highly sought after around this time. Failure to notify me before the 24 hour window in the month of December, will be charged a cancelation fee of 100% of the total appointment cost. This also applies to any appointments made outside of Whangarei.

Can I book in today?

Bookings are required a minimum of 24 hours ahead of the treatment time. This gives me time to confirm the booking with you and ask for any additional information.
If you’re lucky, I might be able to fit you in on the day. Please contact me at 027 596 5000 to discuss.

Can I book multiple treatments back-to-back?

Absolutely! If you’re looking for a relaxing salon-like experience at home, please check all applicable treatments when booking.
For group or wedding makeup please enquire via the Contact page or on Facebook to arrange.

Why is there a $50 minimum?

The $50 minimum is due to travel costs associated with delivering at home treatments. This ensures I can forego complex pricing based on the distance travelled from client to client.

Do you sell beauty products?

I’m currently selling Black Magic spray tan products, Tuel and Dermaceuticals Skincare, exfoliating gloves and Bump Eraiser ingrown hair lotion.
If you have any requests, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

How do you keep your equipment hygienic?

Between treatments and at the end of the day, non-disposable equipment is cleaned with hospital-grade disinfectant.
I also use freshly laundered towels, new gloves per client and other items when appropriate for the treatment.

Do you bring all your own equipment?

Yes! For treatments such as waxing, massage and facials I will bring a fold out massage table that is 2m long and 1m wide. Please consider a space for me to set up in your home if you are receiving those treatments in particular. I require a power outlet for my wax pot as well as the foot spa and Gel UV Lamp.

What do I do if I have just found out I am unwell, my child is unwell, a close contact/postive with Covid/ have symptoms within the 24 hour window of my booking?

Let me know as soon as possible and we will reschedule. Cancelation fees don’t occur if the appointment is rescheduled.
